Registration and Enrollment

If you would like to register for the 2012-2013 school year, please click HERE to download the registration form or contact me by email or phone. All families will need to pay a $50, nonrefundable enrollment fee as soon as possible. (This is to cover the cost of consumable items.) Once this fee is paid your place will be secured in the preschool. I will fill spots on a first come, first served basis.

Welcome!

The Learning Adventures Preschool is a school that I started in 2008, in my home in Riverton, for children ages 3 & 4.

My Qualifications:
*I taught 8 years of kindergarten with Jordan School District.
*I have a current Utah teacher's license.
*I hold a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education.
*I have 19+ years of experience working with young children.

Why should you enroll your child here? Because I have seen first-hand the advantage students have going into kindergarten when they have had a quality preschool education. I look forward to helping my students become those well prepared kindergartners that love learning!

2011-2012 Calendar

Each Day...

Each day as the students arrive they get a few minutes of play time as we wait for everyone to get there. Once everyone is at school we clean up and gather for group time at the rug. This is our opportunity to sing songs, read books, chant poems, say the Pledge of Allegiance, review the calendar, and many other fun activities. Then we take some time to do an activity centered around our theme or other concepts we are working on. It may be reading simple books, reviewing our letters or numbers, working on our phonics and phonemic awareness, playing learning games, etc. Next we get to have fun doing our Centers or Table Time. This is a chance for children to learn independently and work on mastering new skills and concepts. Each day there is an art table, a math table, and a literacy table. Center time is a great time that I can work with small groups or individuals on concepts that students need the most help in. It is also the time that I can work on reading skills for those students that are ready to read. Once they finish up their tables they are allowed to enjoy some free play time-playing is one of the most important skills that preschoolers can develop at this age! Once all of the students have finished their table work we gather once more as a group and read another story, sing songs, and possibly play a game or re-visit an activity we did earlier in the day. Before we know it, it's time to pack up and head home!

This is just a glimpse of what might happen within a school day, but of course, each day is different and I love seeing the learning that takes place with each individual every day!
